Next up: Sestina! (gulp)

Feast of Flesh and BloodDown on subservient knees Aching in anticipation Unfocused haze, eyes glazed In awe of the Mystery. Hands clenched together Knuckles white with waiting While miniature sun-masques illuminate the mass In comfortable orange. Royal smoke, the scent of majesty, Of spices exotic, of far-away lands; A garnish for this feast of flesh and blood. Raised to the heavens, A solitary bell heralds transubstantiation Bright and brassy, clear and excited A celebratory sound of triumph Rallying the mass. A calm air pervades; Silent, still, waiting, waiting &nFeast of Flesh and Blood

The Song So SweetThe song so sweet the heavens weep drops of necter, honey, and dew, rousing the Muses from their sleepThe Song So Sweet
The flute of Euterpe can no longer keep; her bemusing breath will come to rue the song so sweet the heavens weep
A melody so pure, with the power to sweep the world over; through and through, rousing the Muses from their sleep
Polyhymnia's crystal voice will leap in stern demur of the one who blew the song so sweet
--
Let me tell you a secret... The Gods envy us. They envy us because we're mortal, because any moment may be our last. Everything is more beautiful because we're doomed. You will never be more lovely than you are now. We will never be here again.
Oh... and welcome back!
