Poetic Forms

Fri Oct 21, 2005, 1:05 PM
Whee! I've recently gotten into trying at my hand more formal and fixed forms of poetry. I must say, I really like them. Especially the pantoum and villanelle. They have a nice repetitive quality to them which really sticks with you and reinforces the idea that you're trying to get across.

Next up: Sestina! (gulp)

Heard of you through Chrysta. She and I are in fourth block together. Anyhoo. The poems of yours that I read were very good, very well written. I think I'll put you on my DevWatch.

Welcome to DA. I hope you enjoy your stay. Taking a look at your taste of music and writers/poets. I'd say you may like a band called Opeth. Practically my favorite band, they are extremely talented. They are more progressive death metal so if your not one for screams a growls it may not be to your taste, but they mix their hard music with brilliant soft acoustic pieces. Just a suggestion, you may like them. Also I've always wanted to read Dante's Inferno... Anyway, I like all your work man. Keep it up.

Let me tell you a secret... The Gods envy us. They envy us because we're mortal, because any moment may be our last. Everything is more beautiful because we're doomed. You will never be more lovely than you are now. We will never be here again.
